Skylife Engineering is currently developing the power converter under the Clean Sky 2 (CS2) program and expects to have a final prototype by 2021. That converter is expected to be installed in the regional FTB2 demonstrator.

 

The HVTRU integrates a 270V DC system into an electrical system based on a 115V AC input. It is compatible with the three phase AC power supply according to MIL-STAD-704F and is not affected by the sequence of the input phase. With a nominal power of 15kW, its efficiency is greater than 90% in a stable state.

 

The HVTRU includes protections against short circuit, overheating, overvoltage, low voltage, over-wave and open phase. These failures are reported through the ARINC-429 bus.
The HVTRU includes a soft start function and guarantees a THD input current of less than 5% under typical operating conditions, in addition to a power factor greater than 95%.
