The project ARIESS (Augmented Reality and Indoor navigation for Enhanced aSSembly) is part of Clean Sky 2 of the European Commission and is a part of the framework of actions to promote the “Development and implementation of hardware demonstrators in the future industrial human-machine interface (HMI) and connected manufacturing technologies”.
ARIESS develops an interface that incorporates technological advances to improve inter-relation and communication between humans and machines for ground testing operations in the final assembly line of aircrafts.
This project also seeks to establish a wireless network for interconnecting end-of-line testing rigs. This technology falls within the field of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).
Among the specific main objectives of these works coordinated by Skylife Engineering are the design and implementation of innovative graphic interfaces in augmented reality, the development of an advanced indoor positioning system, and the launching of an advanced communications architecture to boost the so-called “connected factory”.
