Many processes at the ground testing stage in an aircraft’s final assembly line (FAL) lack automation and must be improved with regard to digitisation and the integration of the product life cycle (PLM).
This is achieved by DILECO (Digitisation of the lifecycle of ground testing with ECO design criteria), a project coordinated by Skylife and whose main advantages will be to improve the capacity to maintain the specifications of ground testing requirements (GTR), reducing the work hours required for recurring tasks without added value, improving GTR consistency through PLM and taking advantage of collaborative engineering for ground testing processes.
The strategy for the digitisation of ground testing procedures and the connection of the digital model with a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) application promotes the ecoefficiency of the assembly processes in the aerospace industry.
DILECO’s goals also include the development of a framework that brings together the necessary information, developing functionalities that analyse the factors that influence ecoefficiency, developing a software platform to generate and manage the requirements for grounds tests, integrating the software solution with PLM tools, among others.
