The PROST project (Generation of tools and processes for studies of compatibility and safety in radiation tests) is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020 and the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, through the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI).

The system developed will allow the Airbus company to test the system on the aircraft assembly line itself without any interference with the assembly line environment and completely guarantee the safety of the personnel operating in the hangar. “This results in a significant saving of time and costs for the company, contributing to improve its competitiveness”, says the professor of the University of Seville, Manuel Freire.

The tasks developed by these two researchers of the Microwave Group of the University of Seville within the PROST Project include the design and electromagnetic simulation of the microwave absorbent structure and the development and verification of measurement methods aimed at ensuring that the operation of the system within of the hangar complies with the security conditions established in the European Directives that apply …
