  • Consorcio: Smartech Cluster, Innoasturias, Indaer, Innoarea, Skylife
  • Sector: Aeronáutica
  • Reto y Antecedentes:

Technical inspections on aircraft are vital to guarantee aviation safety. This process, rigorously regulated, helps prevent a significant portion of air accidents. It is proposed to develop an application that integrates Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality to improve airworthiness management and inspections. The app will digitize manual tasks, speeding up inspections and offering immersive experiences. This will benefit leasing companies and air operators, optimizing the management of technical records and improving efficiency in the physical inspection of aircraft. The project seeks to use advanced technologies to automate processes and manage data in real time, in order to increase reliability and efficiency in the aviation industry.

  • Proyecto:

The project under development seeks to create a cutting-edge tool that will transform the way technical inspections and airworthiness management are carried out. The app will offer automatic report digitization capabilities during physical inspections, manage aircraft technical records using AI to extract crucial information, and enable immersive experiences using AR glasses to check the status of aircraft in real-time.

  • Solución:

The final objective of the project is to improve the reliability, efficiency and productivity of airworthiness management processes and physical inspections of aircraft, through disruptive 4.0 technologies and process automation. This will benefit leasing companies, air operators and other industry players, contributing to a safer and more efficient future in aviation.

Teleasistencia

  • Subtítulo Caso de Éxito: Remote assistance with augmented reality for Navantia
  • Estado: In progress
  • Cliente: Navantia
  • Sector: Naval
  • Reto y Antecedentes:

Maintenance and technical assistance operations in the naval sector are characterized by their complexity. In addition to the inherent difficulty of these operations due to the physical distance between ships at sea and technical centers on land, there is also the isolation of the working environment and the difficulties in communicating with experts if a problem arises. This situation results in high travel costs and delays in maintenance and problem-solving processes. To address this, Navantia initiated the Teleassistance project with the intention of using augmented reality's advantages to connect operators and experts in real-time for remote assistance.

  • Proyecto:
TELEASSISTANCE is a project whose main objective is to develop a multi-platform software tool for Navantia that can guide the team working on the ship in technical complexity operations without the need for experts to travel, while ensuring maximum safety and naval and/or military standards.

The use of augmented reality ensures efficiency in virtual remote guidance while providing a positive user experience. It helps immerse users in the necessary steps for each operation to achieve optimal results, with real-time guidance from experts.
  • Solución:
Teleassistance allows experts to guide operators in technically complex operations on board from the company's facilities without the need for travel. Using augmented reality, the expert can overlay instructions on the operator's view of reality. Likewise, the operator can display various digitized materials in the tool.

With this tool, when assistance is needed, the operator makes a request and connects remotely with the expert using augmented reality glasses like Hololens or a tablet. The expert, from their workstation on land, shares their knowledge by immersing themselves in the field and without the need for travel. The expert can also share instructions, virtual elements, documents, and more based on what the operator sees.

    Specifically, this tool includes:
    • Real-time visualization of the operator's environment.
    • Real-time annotations on the operator's work scene.
    • The ability for the expert to send documents, 3D models, and animations, and their visualization in augmented reality.
    • Use of Hololens II augmented reality glasses.
    • Multi-platform application, also accessible from a tablet.
    • Communication security.
  • Beneficios:
    • Optimization of technical operations without the need for travel, saving time and resources.
    • Increased safety in operations thanks to virtual guidance and real-time visualization.
    • Improved efficiency and accuracy in technical tasks on board.
    • Simplification of complex tasks by clarifying instructions through augmented reality.
    • Historical data and artificial intelligence to reduce the number of assistance requests.
    • Communication security and the possibility of integration with any platform.
  • Por qué Skylife:

Skylife contributes to this project with its experience and capacity in the development of advanced digitization solutions and immersive tools, as well as its commitment to safety and efficiency in technical operations for strategic sectors such as defense, aerospace, or naval. Skylife is a company with over 12 years of experience working in the engineering sector with high demands and technical requirements.
