Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures

ODE4HERA (Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures) is an innovative project aimed at accelerating the development of hybrid-electric regional aircraft (HER). Its objective is to create an Open Digital Platform (ODP) equipped with advanced tools and technologies that simplify the complex aircraft design and certification process.

The Project

Context and Challenges

The development of hybrid-electric aircraft involves a high level of complexity. To address this challenge, the ODE4HERA project proposes the creation of an Open Digital Platform (ODP). This digital environment will integrate key technologies such as MBSE, MDO, SDM, and PLM, while extending their capabilities through new open interfaces and intelligent model and data transformation technologies.

The project's main challenge is to manage this complexity efficiently by enabling virtual verification and validation from the earliest stages of the design process, ultimately supporting a faster and more efficient certification process.

Our Approach

Skylife Engineering contributes to the integration of several electrical system block models for the development of one of the project's use cases. In addition, Skylife is responsible for verifying and validating the integrated models in accordance with the validation plan defined jointly with the project partners.

Skylife also develops a roadmap for the expansion and industrialisation of the Open Digital Platform (ODP).

Financing

The project has a total budget of 656.250,00 €, including a grant of 459.375,00 €. This ambitious initiative is made possible through the collaboration of a high-level consortium comprising:

Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Siemens, Leonardo S.p.A., Airbus, EnginSoft S.p.A., Aeromechs S.r.l., IRT Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial Esteban Terradas (INTA), Esploro Projects GmbH, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
